Barwon Sports Academy

The Barwon Sports Academy would like to congratulate Lee Troop for his vision, organisation and implementation of the Run Geelong Event.  The event which attracted over 2000 competitors of all ages was a fantastic community event for Geelong. To raise almost $80,000 for the Geelong Hospital Children's Ward in its inaugural year is a remarkable effort.

In 2008, the Barwon Sports Academy named our top athlete award in Lee's name and inducted him as a 'Champion' of the Barwon Sports Academy, not only for his achievements as an International athlete but for his strong commitment to the community and the values and character that he displays. This event truly reflects all of these things.

A big thank you also to all of the BSA associated volunteers that gave up their time to Marshall and assist on the day.
