The Athlete Education Program provides personal and sporting development opportunities to athletes through a series of workshops relevant to the holistic development of highly talented athletes.
The aim of the program is to assist athletes in achieving their full potential through the education and practical application of balance in sport and life. The BSA places a strong emphasis on utilising the highly knowledgeable and experienced pool of expert presenters that exist within the Barwon Region.
Highly Reccomended Sessions
All athletes are expected to attend Education sessions, however the BSA is understanding of athlete commitments and responsibilities.
First year athletes - There are 3 highly recommended sessions that should be attended by all first year athletes (Injury Prevention, Nutrition and Goal Setting). These are identified as fundamental education areas vital for developing athletes and set the foundation for the year ahead as a BSA Athlete.
All Athletes - There are 2 compulsory Education Sessions (BSA Trademark and ASADA Drug Education) for all BSA athletes and 1 additional compulsory session for all 15+ athletes (TAC Fit2Drive Program).
Athletes who are unable to attend Education sessions must make Alison in the office aware prior to the session. Athlete attendance records will contribute to athlete awards and can be accessed by coaches and program managers throughout the year.
